Why do I need gutters?

Every once in awhile we will hear from someone that will ask us, "Do I really need gutters?" Of course we would say "yes indeed." But why? We thought we would address some of the more common reasons you would want to have gutters installed on your house.

Your gutters are used to direct water from your roof. Gutters will also help to deter water from your basement, your sidewalk and patio. Having a gutter system in place will allow you to walk around your home’s exterior during or after rain and not worry about water falling on you. They also keep the exterior of your home clean by keeping mud and dirt from splashing onto your siding, windows and doors.
 You can also count on gutters to protect wood decks, doors and garage doors from excessive water damage. Diverting water from concrete slabs will also help to prevent them from sinking and/or cracking.

There are many other reasons that gutters are used to protect homes. Having a properly installed and properly working gutter system installed, will help you prolong the life and structure of your home by keeping water and other damage away from areas that it could harm.
